Tignes, a sports resort
Tignes is, and always has been, a sporting town, welcoming all sports enthusiasts, whether top-level or beginners.
A favourable environment
Thanks to its location (in the heart of the French Alps), its geography (a unique playground and peaks) and its spirit, Tignes is an active, sporting town like few others.
With a wide range of mountain activities in both summer and winter, Tignes is for many people and has been for many years an exceptional Natural Stadium offering a multitude of sporting opportunities, whether for an active holiday or for top-level training.
Skiing is of course the main activity, but there are plenty of other sporting activities on offer too: mountaineering and climbing on the surrounding peaks, paragliding, tobogganing in all its forms, ice diving in the lake, tennis on one of the 11 courts, water sports on the lake, golf on Europe’s highest 18-hole course, cycling to the legendary cols (Iseran, Petit Saint-Bernard, Cormet de Roselend), skatepark and pumptrack, trail running and bivouac…
And don’t forget Tignes’ modern sports facilities: the Tignespace sports centre for team sports, racquet sports and climbing, and the Le Lagon aqua-sports centre for the pool and fitness/gym area.
