It is always so fun and touching to observe children when December is getting closer… Hardworking while they write their letter to Father Christmas, guilty when they finish up their Advent calendar in just a few days (hours?)… and overexcited when you tell them they will spend their Christmas holiday surrounded by snowflakes this year!

A magical atmosphere for everyone
Torchlight descents, essential distribution of Christmas crackers, Santa Claus parades, shows and fireworks: every 24th December, Tignes invites you to an enchanting après-ski event that will sparkle the eyes of all lovers of the Christmas spirit.

The Christmas festivities programme in Tignes
Tuesday 23 December
- 17:30 – 20:00 : Father Christmas parade and distribution of Christmas crackers by the Vespa Van & Glacier and Rosset Shopkeepers associations – Meet at Promenade de Tovière.
- 18:30 – 19:30 : Christmas choir: Promenade en traîneau – Meet at the Tignespace auditorium (free)
Wednesday 24 December
All neighbourhoods
Distribution of Christmas crackers by Father Christmas – Meet in the neighbourhoods of Tignes
Tignes Val Claret
- 17:00 : Start of the ‘Gueule d’Ours’ parade accompanied by Father Christmas in front of the Maison de Tignes Val Claret Centre to the Grande Motte snow front (passing by the Tufs snow front)
- 17:30 : Lantern descent by the children of the Val Claret ESF on the ‘Bollin’ slope with hot drinks distributed
- 18:00 : Torchlight descent by instructors from the Val Claret ESF on the ‘Double M’ slope, followed by fireworks.
Tignes le Lac
- 17:45 : Lantern descent by children from the Lac ESF on the “Anémone” slope, with hot drinks provided.
- 18:30 : Torchlight descent by instructors from the Lac ESF on the Johan Clarey slope
- Then arrival of the instructors in a guard of honour for the start of the ‘Gueule d’Ours’ parade accompanied by Father Christmas in front of the Maison de Tignes le Lac
- And arrival of the parade in front of the Lagon for the finale, followed by fireworks
Thursday 25 December
Tignes Val Claret
- 17:00 – 18:30 : Sleigh ride with Father Christmas, offered by the Val Claret Centre shopkeepers – Meet at Place du Curling (Tignes Val Claret)
Tignes 1800
- 17:00 – 18:00 : Christmas brass band parade on the snow front of Tignes 1800 with hot drinks served
- 18:00 : Lantern descent by children from the ESF ski school in 1800 and Les Brévières on the ‘Myrtille’ slope
Tignes les Brévières
- 18:15: Christmas brass band parade on the snow front at Les Brévières
- Followed by the arrival of the lantern descent and the start of the pyrotechnic parade with dancers, jugglers and fire, followed by fireworks
Tignes gets into the spirit
Throughout the festive season, the resort of Tignes is lit up from every angle: Christmas decorations, illuminations, entertainment for young and old… Enjoy Christmas in Tignes under the snowflakes!
The whole resort of Tignes lights up
At the end of the year, the whole of Tignes is lit up to the rhythm of Christmas. From the Tignes le Lac snow front to the central squares and from street to street, stroll through the resort to discover this wonderful world: Christmas trees, garlands, giant animals, snowmen, a variety of decorations… Everything you need to brighten up your Christmas holiday in Tignes.
Visit the Panorama area of the Maison de Tignes
The Panorama cultural centre is getting into the spirit of Christmas with lots of decorations, where the festive season will be the theme for the end of the year, and where everyone can take the time to marvel at the decorations and entertainment planned for the occasion. Come and decorate small wooden logs that you can then take home to decorate your Christmas tree.
Finally, a postbox for all your letters to Father Christmas has also been installed at Panorama.
Also in the ski area
Get into the Christmas spirit on skis too. Meet up at the Funicular, the Tovière and the Brévières gondolas, as well as in the two non-sac rooms at Tignes le Lac and Tignes les Brévières. This is your chance to take advantage of all the decorations on site.
