“The place to be”
The Freeride World Tour Qualifier is the circuit reserved for adult competitors. It allows the best to qualify for the Freeride World Tour. Competitions are classified according to their level of difficulty: from 1*, the easiest and open to all, to 4****, more technical and reserved for athletes who have already proven themselves in 1*, 2** and 3***.
In Tignes, head to Col des Vés in March for a 3* Qualifier and a 3* Junior event! Riders will have to conquer this slope if they hope to score points with the judges.
What is freeride?
In the mountains, freeriding is a sport practised mainly on skis or snowboard, which consists of skiing off the marked and prepared slopes of ski resorts. Unlike traditional alpine skiing, which takes place on groomed pistes, freeride is practised on natural terrain with varied conditions, such as unprepared snow, steep slopes and sometimes obstacles such as rocks or trees.
