Adapted resort

Tignes and handisport

Tignes is committed to providing access for all to its ski area and, more broadly, to all the resort’s facilities, including sports facilities.

Adapted station

A flagship resort for the 1992 Paralympic Games, Tignes remains a benchmark in terms of accessibility for disabled skiers. Active in developing solutions for all types of disability, Tignes is also involved in organising events for disabled skiers, as demonstrated by the recent organisation of the FIS Alpine Para-Ski World Cup and the Virtus 2025 Para-Ski World Championships. Tignes will also be hosting the FIS Alpine Para-Ski World Championships in 2027, a unique opportunity for Tignes to once again become one of the world’s leading para-ski resorts and show its commitment to the sport.

In addition to the competitions, which are wonderful showcases for disabled sports, Tignes is a resort that is sensitive to the issue of accessibility, whether in terms of its infrastructure and accommodation, or in terms of the pleasures of skiing and snowboarding for all disabled people.

Over the years, the resort of Tignes has become a key venue for the French Handisport Federation’s snow sports activities. The organisation of the site and the accessibility of the ski lifts enable us to put in place all the forms of sessions that we organise for our disabled sportsmen and women. These range from introductory sessions for newcomers, training for the French Handisport teams and the organisation of top-level competitions. What’s more, the complementary nature of the off-snow sports facilities at Tignespace and Le Lagon fully meet our needs. Tignes has been associated with disabled skiing since 1992, and remains a benchmark for our activities.

I often come to the resort of Tignes, whether for my sporting activities (Handisport downhill skiing) or simply to enjoy the site, and I particularly appreciate the ease of access to the slopes for people with reduced mobility, and the proximity of reserved parking areas as close to the snow front as at Val Claret. I invite anyone who hasn’t been here before to come and discover this very welcoming and sporty resort in both winter and summer.

Adapted sports facilities

Sanitary facilities, changing rooms, lifts, parking, adapted equipment… Tignes offers a wide range of solutions for disabled visitors. The Tignespace sports and conference centre and the Le Lagon aqua-sports centre, the resort’s two most important sports facilities, are accessible, so that everyone can enjoy the facilities.
