There are several ways to get to Tignes: by train, bus, car, or plane…

• In winter: you should anticipate your parking as far as possible by reserving your parking space online. Parking in the resort’s parking lots is compulsory.
• Summer: parking in the resort’s parking lots is highly recommended. Unlike in winter, parking in Tignes is free in summer.

To charge your electric or hybrid vehicle, Tignes has about 100 charging stations located throughout the resort.

To improve traffic flow on roads in mountainous regions and enhance road user safety, it is mandatory to equip your vehicle with winter tires or to carry snow chains or snow socks from November¹ through 31 March in certain mountainous areas.

The roads are maintained year-round and cleared of snow as needed by city hall crews.

However, your vehicle must still be properly equipped.

In Tignes, you leave your car in the parking lot. During peak season, free shuttles run all day long.

Check the schedules for the free shuttle buses—which can even take you all the way to Val d’Isère—directly on the Tignes mobile app or on the sustainable transportation page.

Please note that in the summer, you can also get around using Dott scooters.

Tignes offers a wide range of accommodations, from private rentals to hotels and tourist residences.

In Tignes, you can enjoy several benefits on ski passes, including:

• Free admission for children under 8 and seniors over 75
• Discounted package for children ages 8 to 18
• A 300€ discount is available to families (subject to conditions)

First of all, it depends on the ski pass you’ve chosen: Tignes or Tignes–Val d’Isère. If your ski pass is valid only for the Tignes ski area, you won’t be able to ski on the Val d’Isère side.

Next, take the time to read and understand the terms and conditions for using the ski lifts: depending on your equipment, you may be denied access to certain lifts.

Here are a few examples:

• Wheelchair skiing: Unfortunately, not all facilities are yet equipped to accommodate you
• Snowscoots: Certain models are not permitted
• Cross-country skiing: Certain equipment is not allowed

Whether you’re into skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, telemark skiing, or other winter sports, you’ll find plenty of specialty sports shops in Tignes that can provide you with information and rent you the equipment best suited to your sport and skill level.

The ski area is shared by all ski and snowboard enthusiasts, and to ensure that everyone can fully enjoy their day on the slopes, there are several rules that must be followed.

Tignes is certainly known as a challenging, sports-oriented resort with a large ski area. But even as a beginner, you can take advantage of areas dedicated to learning, with several free lifts that allow you to improve quickly and affordably.

The weather can be unpredictable at times: you really need snow to have a great ski area!

On snowy days in winter or rainy days in summer, you have several options:

• Enjoy the pool and the relaxation area at the Lagon wellness center
• A break for sports (squash, badminton, table tennis, skatepark, rock climbing) at Tignespace
• A peaceful, cultural experience at the Espace Panorama in the Maison de Tignes le Lac
• A movie at Cinema La Cabine in Tignes Val Claret

Tignes is a ski area, but more broadly speaking, it is a mountain resort. As such, it offers a wide range of activities: sledding, snowshoeing, Ice floating, microlight flying, paragliding, and more.

There are several pedestrian zones in Tignes where you can take a stroll and admire the surrounding mountains.

In winter, Lake Tignes, located in the heart of the resort, transforms and freezes over enough to allow pedestrians to cross it.

Please note, however, that at the beginning and end of the season, the lake is sometimes completely or partially closed for safety reasons. It is also important to stay on the designated trails. In general, please follow the posted signs.

Tignes is one of the most vibrant resorts. A full entertainment program is offered every week in all areas of the resort. Staying informed couldn’t be easier: download the Tignes app, where you’ll find the full entertainment schedule, as well as the movie listings.

In addition, Tignes organizes and hosts numerous festive and sporting events throughout the season.

Tignes has a fitness center located within the Lagon aquatic sports complex, equipped with all the essential machines for your workout.

You can also take part in fitness classes every day at lunchtime and in the evening.

In Tignes, there are several daycare centers available for your children. You can also contact the tourist office, which can provide you with a list of babysitters in the resort.

No problem, as long as you follow the golden rules of drone flying and avoid flying over protected areas such as the Vanoise National Park.

However, be considerate of others and don’t risk hurting anyone.
