Road conditions, traffic, and car info

To get to Tignes, you have several options: train, bus, car, or plane. All the essential information to help you plan your trip to Tignes is available on the dedicated page.Also consider carpooling options if you prefer not to drive your own vehicle.

Resort access: getting to Tignes

  • In winter: You must plan your parking in advance by booking your space online. Parking in the resort’s designated car parks is mandatory.
  • In summer: Parking in the resort’s car parks is highly recommended. Unlike in winter, parking is free in Tignes during the summer season.

To charge your electric or hybrid vehicle, Tignes is equipped with 3 public charging stations:

  • Vénus Station: 1 charging point – 30 kW, CCS2 connector compatible | >> [Get directions]
  • Jupiter Station: 3 charging points – 60 kW, compatible with CCS2 / CHAdeMO / Type 2 connectors | >> [Get directions]

Snow chain tuto

To improve traffic flow on mountain roads and ensure user safety, it is mandatory to equip your vehicle with winter tires or to carry snow chains or snow socks from November 1st to March 31st in certain mountainous areas.
Please check the road conditions page before your departure and watch our snow chain tutorial to install them safely.

Tignes has set up an online booking center that allows you to reserve your accommodation along with activities and services (ski passes, insurance, equipment rental). Our booking agents are also available to answer your questions and help you find the best lodging for your stay, whether in summer or winter.

To save time upon arrival at the resort, we recommend booking your ski pass in advance on the website skipass-tignes.com.
You can then collect your pass from a ticket machine or load it onto a card you already have.
Also, check with your accommodation provider or the Booking Center, as they may offer the option to purchase your ski pass together with your lodging.

And one extra tip: consider subscribing to the Carré Neige insurance for a worry-free skiing experience.

 

The lifts

Winter and summer, specific access conditions apply at the ski lifts. These conditions are set by the company managing the ski area and lifts and may change over time.

In summer:

  • Children under 2 years old: All pedestrian ski lifts are accessible, provided the child is carried in a baby carrier (mandatory).
  • Children aged 2 and over, under 1.20 m (3’11”) tall: Only the Perce-Neige funicular and the Tovière gondola are accessible
  • Children over 1.20 m tall: All pedestrian ski lifts are accessible.

Once you’re there

No problem, as long as you follow the basic drone flying rules and avoid flying over protected areas like the Vanoise National Park.
Please also be considerate of others and avoid putting people at risk.

Regulations for the Use of Recreational and Competition Drones

Traffic conditions differ between winter and summer, but you can always get around without a car thanks to our free inter-village shuttles.
If you arrive by train, shuttles from our partner Altibus will take you to the different villages of Tignes: information and booking available via this link.
In summer, you can also get around the resort between Tignes le Lac, Tignes le Lavachet, and Tignes Val Claret using Dott electric scooters available for short-term rental.

Our Tourist Offices offer a luggage storage service at the Maisons de Tignes in Le Lac and Val Claret.
The opening hours are the same as those of the Tourist Offices — more information here.
The rates are €2 per bag per day and €2.50 per bag per night.µ
In Tignes Les Brévières, the luggage storage service is provided by Skicase | Ski Locker – Tignes.

In Tignes, Wi-Fi is free. You just need to create an account on the Wifi Station platform.
