What types of races?

The Tignes Frozen Lake Race is Tignes’ running event of the winter. The event stands out for its unique nature: it takes place on the frozen lake of Tignes, either solo or in teams depending on the event chosen!

• Race format: as its name suggests, participants must run on the frozen lake for 6 hours in a festive atmosphere, with athletes of all levels. The race is a team relay. Other race formats are also organised.
• The course: the race takes place on a 3km circuit marked out on the frozen surface of the lake, offering spectacular surroundings with the surrounding mountains and an exceptional natural environment.
• Competition and atmosphere: the frozen lake races are a sporting event, but also a festive occasion. Runners, both professional and amateur, compete in a friendly spirit.
• A physical challenge: participating in this race requires good physical condition, especially due to the weather conditions, which can be harsh at this time of year. Running on the frozen lake adds an extra challenge to the event.
