Good ideas for a successful holiday!
Skiing at Christmas: an inimitable atmosphere
If there’s one place that has all the ingredients needed to make the festive season a magical and unforgettable experience, it’s the mountains. There’s something magical about Christmas on the slopes!
Spending Christmas on the slopes in Tignes means first and foremost enjoying the warm and special atmosphere that reigns in the resort: the festivities that bring the village to life day after day, not forgetting that delicious smell of the open fire that hangs in the air!
All the little things – and great pleasures – that only the mountains can offer. Christmas on the slopes is also an opportunity to feast your eyes! The village is decked out in its finest finery: what could be more marvellous than the multicoloured illuminations that decorate the shops and sparkle in the streets?
As for the pistes, the traditional torchlight descents and fireworks displays on 24 December are a delight for young and old alike as night falls! Afterwards, all you have to do is sit around a roaring fire and wait for Father Christmas to arrive: a scenario worthy of the best Christmas tales!
Skiing at Christmas is magical by nature, and has a way of stirring the imagination and awakening the senses, whether you’re 7 or 77!
Christmas skiing in Tignes means lots of activities!
Christmas skiing in Tignes is a fantastic opportunity to try out the first snows on the 300km or so of safe, marked pistes* in the Tignes – Val d’Isère ski area. It’s also a good time to try ski touring, off the beaten track, guided by an experienced instructor, or to try out new forms of snow sports.
The more adventurous and thrill-seekers can try their hand at :
- Bun J Ride, a unique adrenaline rush for everyone, combining the techniques of springboard jumping, bungee jumping and zip-lining.
- Speedriding, which combines skiing and piloting a small parachute-type sail.
And for some fun with family and friends when the skiers have deserted the pistes, there’s nothing like a good Snake gliss, a giant caterpillar made up of individual sledges linked together: thrills and laughter guaranteed!
So, what are you doing for Christmas? Because we’ve got some great places to go to make sure you have a wonderful festive season!
