Once upon a time in Tignes
Let us tell you about the thousand-year-old history of the village of Tignes, from the peddler to the skier, from the mountain pastures to the villages. A visit to St Jacques church, rebuilt exactly as it was when the dam was built, will give you an insight into the village’s rich history.

Tignes, the story of a resort
From the 1930s onwards, architects, town planners and local residents invented a new way of living at 2,000 meters above sea level: winter sports developed and the mountains were transformed. A real challenge!
