Tignes is one of the Alps’ highest ski resorts in Europe. It is ideally located, offering hours of skiing and snow-filled adventures throughout its domain. The village is nestled between 5,085 and 6,890 ft., and the highest slopes are perched up on the Grande Motte glacier, a whopping 11,338 ft. high. The Tignes - Val d’Isère ski area encompasses many slopes of varying levels, with a maximum height difference of 6,253 ft. To enjoy your downhill experience to the fullest, our ski lifts were designed for utmost comfort and minimum wait times. As it is one of the highest resorts in France, you can appreciate all Tignes has to offer throughout the year. Boasting optimal sun exposure and perfect snowy conditions, you can ski right up to the spring holidays.
As of November, ski enthusiasts can enjoy the many slopes up at the Grande Motte glacier – one of the highest points in the ski area reaching over 9,800 ft. You can even ski there in the early summer!
This French ski resort is ideally located in the heart of the Alps, set high enough to ensure snow right through until April, perched 6,890 ft. up the mountain side. For this reason, Tignes is a resort where all the biggest skiing champions and celebrities come to train every year. Come and ski by their side or watch them practice during the autumn before their next competitions.

Make the most of a calm and peaceful natural environment during a cross-country skiing or snowshoeing outing. You could also go dog-sledding with a musher, for a truly original experience. Kids and adults alike will love dashing down the slopes on their sledges in a fun and safe environment.
