Pedal boats on Lac de Tignes

Pedal boats on Lac de Tignes

Want to share a simple, fun and refreshing moment with your children? Hop aboard a pedalo on Lake Tignes! In the heart of the mountains, this gentle activity is accessible to all and perfect for enjoying the scenery while having fun.

The ideal activity for families

Pedal-boating is the ideal activity for families: you don’t need to know how to swim or be an experienced sportsman, just pedal quietly and enjoy the moment. Children love to “drive” while parents relax with their feet in the water… that is, if they can manage it. The lake water temperature never exceeds 10/15°C in summer.

It’s a chance to admire the mountains from another angle, to take a break in the sun.

Please note: to access the boats, people must weigh more than 15kg.

Easy, fun and relaxed

Base Nautique de Tignes offers comfortable, stable pedal boats, perfect for 2 to 4 people. Climb aboard, pedal at your own pace, and enjoy… No stress, no technique, just fun in the great outdoors!

And what about the kids? They can have fun spotting fish in the water, touching the surface of the lake or simply laughing as they splash their parents. A real moment of complicity to share.

Practical info

The pedal-boat activity is available all summer at the water sports center. It’s included in the My Tignes card, so you can try it (and try it again!) with no questions asked (from the 3-day card).

Remember to come in the late morning or mid-afternoon, when the sun heats up but the lake remains calm. And if you’re looking for a unique experience, choose Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00 p.m. for the Barges evenings, when you can move along with the floating stage along the shore.

And above all: don’t forget your sunglasses and cap for the little mossies on board!

Prices

Rent your pedalo from the water sports center at the single rate of €7.00/person for 30 minutes. Please note that we strongly advise you to book your activity directly online with your My Tignes account.

Good to know
  • Lifejacket and neoprene wetsuit supplied and compulsory with all water sports activities (clothing over the wetsuit only permitted from top to waist to avoid any risk of drowning).
  • Only children over 15kg are allowed on the boats.
  • The water sports centre has lockers, changing rooms, toilets, showers and a panoramic terrace.
  • Swimming is strictly prohibited on the entire lake.

The water sports center is open from late June to early September (see opening times). The activity is often included in the My Tignes card, which gives access to a wide range of activities and sports in the resort. Don’t forget to book during peak periods!

When is the best time?

In the morning, when the lake is still calm, or at the end of the day for an unforgettable sunset. But above all, on Tuesdays and Thursdays for Barges evenings. Get as close as you can to the floating stage, and move along with it along the shoreline.
