Canoeing on Lake Tignes
Experience the mountains in a different way with a fun and refreshing activity: canoeing, where two of you can glide across the clear waters of Lac de Tignes.
A natural setting not to be missed
In summer, Tignes is transformed into a huge adventure playground for nature and sports lovers. The natural lake at Tignes, surrounded by Alpine peaks, is one of the most beautiful spots in the region for canoeing.
Easy to get to, calm and visually spectacular, the lake is perfect for a leisurely paddle for two. It’s as much a moment of relaxation as it is a gentle sporting activity, ideal for enjoying the scenery from a different angle.
Lac de Tignes is an ideal place to paddle in complete tranquillity. The water is calm and smooth, perfect for beginners or just for fun. But we’d like to warn you that it’s impossible to swim there for one simple reason: the temperature doesn’t exceed 13 to 15°C in high summer. The water comes directly from the Grande Motte glacier.
Water sports centre
The Tignes water sports centre, set right on the edge of the lake, welcomes you all summer long to equip and advise you. Double canoes, paddles, life jackets… everything you need to set off on your adventure in the best possible conditions.
The team on site is smiling, professional and always ready to lend a hand. Need advice before you set off? No problem! You’ll have all the information you need to get the most out of your trip, even if it’s your first time.
An accessible activity
Canoeing is an excellent way to share a friendly moment and recharge your batteries. Children love it, as do adults, and everyone can find their own rhythm.
No need for complicated techniques: in just a few minutes, you’ll be paddling like a pro! The activity is accessible to all (children must weigh over 15kg).
And if you just want to let yourself go, that’s even better. Lac de Tignes is a peaceful spot, ideal for both contemplation and fun: unique views of the Grande Motte glacier, the Grande Casse, the Tufs… you’ll be the centre of attention.
When is the best time?
In the morning, when the lake is still calm, or at the end of the day for an unforgettable sunset. But above all, on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the Soirées Barges. Get as close as you can to the floating stage, moving along the shore at the same time as the floating stage.
