Are dogs allowed in the Vanoise National Park and Nature Reserves?
- Dogs are totally forbidden in the Vanoise National Park and Champagny Nature Reserve.
- They are permitted in the Grande Sassière reserve, but must be kept on a leash at all times.

Can dogs swim in lakes?
Outside protected areas, dogs can swim in the lakes. However, please respect the peace and quiet of fishermen if they are present.
Can I take my dog on the ski lifts?
In summer, the Tovière gondola is open to dogs on a leash. Numerous hikes are accessible from the summit. These itineraries cross or run alongside the Bike Park trails, so we strongly advise you to keep your dogs on a leash to avoid any collisions.
Dogs are allowed on the funicular. They can accompany you up to the Panoramic terrace, but must remain in the vicinity of the buildings, as the area is in the heart of the Vanoise National Park and Champagny Nature Reserve. The descent must therefore take place via the funicular.
Can my dog run free?
In the heart of the resort (village, tour du lac…), your dog must be kept on a leash.
In the wild, outside protected areas, there is no obligation to keep your dog on a leash. However, in view of the presence of herds and wild animals, we strongly advise you to keep your dog on a leash so as not to disturb local wildlife and pastoral life.
Even small, friendly, well-trained dogs are totally forbidden in the Vanoise National Park and Champagny Nature Reserve. They are permitted in the Grande Sassière reserve, but must be kept on a leash at all times.
