Its name, inspired by the brown trout—an iconic species of Alpine rivers—reflects the project’s identity: a route deeply rooted in its environment, fluid and deeply local. The official opening is scheduled for 12 June 2026.

Classified as a blue-level route, La Fario offers a route of approximately 40 kilometres (80 km round trip), with 1,780 metres of elevation gain and 750 metres of elevation loss. Accessible as a full-day hike, the route takes an average of 4 hours to ascend and 3 hours to descend, at a leisurely pace. Starting from the marshes of Bourg-Saint-Maurice and passing through the charming hamlets of Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise and Villaroger, not to mention the panoramic views of Montvalezan, La Rosière and Séez, the route ends above the impressive Tignes dam.

The route alternates between different types of terrain: greenways, forest tracks, balcony sections and more playful passages. With no major technical difficulties or steep gradients, it offers a steady ride, suitable for both e-MTB beginners and experienced riders looking to rack up the kilometres in a preserved natural setting.

Winding its way along the Isère, passing through hamlets and opening up to panoramic mountain views, La Fario offers a gradual immersion in the landscapes of the Haute Tarentaise. The route invites you to experience the mountains in a different way: in a relaxed, accessible and environmentally friendly manner.
