Discover Tignes

Tignes: an all-season destination for all mountain lovers.

Unique destination

Nestling in the heart of the Alps, at an altitude of 2100 metres, Tignes is much more than a ski resort: it’s a lively, dynamic mountain community that’s accessible all year round, combining the charm of its historic villages with the energy of a must-see destination in winter and summer.

In winter, a white paradise

In winter, Tignes is transformed into a huge playground for winter sports enthusiasts. Linked to Val d’Isère, it forms one of Europe’s largest ski areas: Tignes – Val d’Isère, with over 300km of pistes. There’s something for skiers and snowboarders of all abilities. And don’t forget the Grande Motte glacier, accessible all year round, for a unique skiing experience at an altitude of over 3,000 metres.

Tignes is also an art of living: spa, swimming pool, sports centre, mountain restaurants and festive après-ski add to the winter experience. Families will be delighted with the play areas and activities designed for all ages.

Summer: a natural setting

When the snow melts, Tignes reveals another facet of its beauty, greener but just as spectacular. In summer, the mountains become the ideal playground for lovers of nature and the great outdoors: hiking, Bike Park, trail running, climbing, paragliding, golf, paddle boarding on the natural lake at Tignes… The possibilities are endless for recharging your batteries and having fun at altitude.

Many activities are available with the My Tignes card. Sports events and festivals enliven the resort throughout the summer season. All in an unspoilt natural setting, ideal for well-being and discovery.

A commune rich in history and diversity

Tignes is more than just a winter sports resort. It’s first and foremost a community made up of several villages, each with its own identity. Les Brévières, with its authentic Savoyard charm, Tignes 1800 and its friendly atmosphere, Le Lavachet, quieter and more residential, Le Lac and Val Claret, more lively, are all gateways to discover the diversity of Tignes.

Long marked by the construction of the Tignes dam in the 1950s, the commune has reinvented itself to become a model tourist resort, without abandoning its roots. Today, it offers a wide range of accommodation, from cosy chalets to top-of-the-range hotels, as well as numerous shops, restaurants and services.

Accessible, modern and lively, Tignes is a complete destination that appeals all year round.
