Tignes, stade naturel
Experience big thrills, refocus, test your limits and come back raring to go. In Tignes, enjoy all the excitement that a stadium atmosphere provides, in the very heart of nature!
Tignes, the sportiest resort
The Tignes ski area, linked to that of Val d’Isère, covers 300 kilometres of pistes at the height of the season, from its highest point (the Grande Motte glacier – 3,456 metres) to its lowest (the village of Les Brévières – 1,550 metres).
In Tignes, fans thrill to the world’s greatest athletes at major sporting events. Amateur athletes, meanwhile, are happy to challenge each other on skis or trainers, but always with a smile.
In winter, adrenalin junkies head for ice diving, the Bun J Ride or the 3-kilometre-long Expedition Cobra sledging piste (formerly known as ‘Pala’Fou’), while lovers of the great outdoors can discover Tignes from the air in a paraglider or microlight, and younger visitors can enjoy a dog-sleigh ride or a snowtubing descent.
In summer: mountain biking, golf and tennis for the parents, hot-jumping, beach volleyball and stand-up paddle for the teens, archery, pedalos and trampolines for the youngest… or an all-out challenge for the whole family!
Tignes, a gateway to the Vanoise National Park
A winter and summer paradise for outdoor sports enthusiasts, it was France’s first national park (1963). Its highest and most emblematic peak is undoubtedly the Grande Casse (3,855 metres), which, along with its neighbour the Grande Motte, forms a landscape that even the most hurried can’t help but stop in front of!
It’s an exceptional setting, with frozen lakes, glaciers and mythical peaks, waiting to be discovered by ski touring fans (in winter), seasoned trail runners and family hikers (in summer). There’s something for everyone in this unspoilt natural environment, whether you’re looking to climb the elevation, watch for chamois and ibex through binoculars, or simply enjoy a blueberry tart or cheese speciality in one of the refuges accessible from the heart of the resort from spring onwards.
Together, let’s preserve this natural heritage for future generations.
