Xplore Alpes Festival
The Xplore Alpes Festival is held every year during the first week of the All Saints’ holiday in the heart of the Alps, in the Tarentaise valley in Savoie.
With a selection of almost 100 films in competition and the presence of renowned guests from the mountain world, the festival’s mission is to celebrate and highlight the world of outdoor sports, adventure and the mountains. Each year, a jury of professionals awards 10 prizes to the best entries. Once the festival is over, the best films go on tour under the Xplore Film Tour label.
The 2025 programme
Saturday 25 October – 18:00
Screening of three films:
- Instinct with Tiphanie Perrotin: Snowboards, Freeride World Tour.
- D’une montagne à l’autre: Andrea, Alexandre, Erwan, Pierre and Katia have one thing in common: all five have been diagnosed with digestive cancer and have had to face the mountain that is this disease. As an alternative treatment, Dr Poureau suggests they climb another mountain: the Pic de l’Étendard, a Savoyard glacier rising to an altitude of 3,464 metres. An extraordinary challenge for these novice mountaineers, who now have a common goal: to reach the summit, together.
- Big Water Theory (kayaking with Nouria Newman): Follow kayak superstar Nouria Newman and two childhood friends, as they navigate one of the world’s most challenging sections of whitewater: the Rondu Gorge of the Indus River, in Pakistan.
Saturday 1st November – 18:00
Screening of three films:
- Irisation: short mountain biking film with Yannis Pelé (director of World Tour).
- In Cold Blood: immersive portrait with Victor Delerue (snowboarder – three-time winner of the Freeride World Tour).
- Lou au delà des pentes: film co-produced by France TV on the career of freerider Lou Ruiz.
