Altitude Experiences…

A unique, fun and educational project right at the heart of the Vanoise National Park!

Take the funicular (arrival at 3032m) then stop by the terrace of the Panoramic restaurant to enjoy the view on the famous peaks and mountains around: the Mont Pourri, ridges of the Grande Sassière, the Grande Casse (highest point of La Vanoise: altitude of 3,856 metres) and of course the majestic Mont Blanc (in the distance).

During the ascent, on the funicular and then on the cable car, visitors are invited to take advantage of 8 specific panoramic view points located at varying altitudes. This quality educational support is part of the Altitude Experiences project, launched; by the STGM and the Vanoise National Park. At the heart of all discussions, global warming and the diversification of activities in alpine resorts.

Two open-top cabins will offer passengers a unique 360-degree view of one of the most beautiful panoramas of the French Alps with views of Mont Blanc, the Cime de Bellecôte and the Aiguille de la Grande Sassière (3,747 m).

In the long term, it’s an educational experience that you will be able to discover, including some suspended walkways! How glaciers are formed, erosion, fauna, flora, the extreme conditions at the peaks... Learn about all of this and more along the marked trails, where those who care about the mountains will be made aware of the environmental issues at stake here.
