The Rugby Football Union or RFU is the governing body for rugby union in England. The English national team chose Tignes as altitude training resort before a decisive sport time: the Rugby World Cup that took place in Moscow from 28th to 30th of June 2013. Thus, from 17th to 21st of June 2013, the English players had a super-busy programme: many rugby trainings on Fabien Galthié's field, muscle trainings in the "Lagon", bike sessions all around the lake, etc. The players of the mythical Rugby Football Union left Tignes more ready than ever for this World Cup... at the end of which they became vice world champions!
Ben Ryan, the main coach of RFU, talked about an intensive training: "training has been hard and highly competitive and it’s meant the 12 picked are in form and ready for the fight. Tignes was great for getting lots of quality pitch time as well as using the natural environment to top up on conditioning."
