Initially known under the code name "Tignes freestyle week", the event quickly turned into a big mix of board culture. The aim? To bring together everything that makes up the DNA of Tignes in one place for one week. A maximum of freeride, a good dose of skateboarding and a good dose of freestyle. Mix and you get Mountain Shaker 2022 edition!
For its first edition, we've seen things through with the hosting of 3 major events in the freeride, freestyle and skateboard disciplines. And to accompany all this, we have of course added games and animations throughout the week, some partner villages, après-ski and parties! So, we didn't get bored this week!
Initially planned over 2 days, the event had to be limited to the organisation of the 1* Amateur Qualifier. It was nevertheless a great opportunity to see a very nice competition with a hundred participants and 4 podiums.
On the 4th of March 2022, we were able to attend a beautiful freeride competition under the sun of Tignes. From the partner village set up for the occasion near the Lagon, we could admire the technique of the amateur freeriders during the Qualifier 1* organised by Evolution2 on the Tufs massif (Tovière sector). An event not to be missed which launched the Mountain Shaker week and which reminds us of the freeride DNA of Tignes!
Contests for all and for all levels. During 2 days of competition, we could admire the technique of all the skaters: juniors, amateurs, women and professionals, all played the game of the show by proposing us high level tricks and with an undeniable technique. In the end, no less than 4 podiums were awarded! A nice nod to Tignes' board culture DNA, where everything that rides is welcome!

Arriving in Tignes on 8 March, the professional athletes were able to take the time to admire the work done by the Tignes shapers who worked day and night to build the most complete slopestyle course on the 'Double M' track: 2 rails, 2 tables and 1 complex module. A champion course, on which the men took off on March 10th for the qualifications for the Saturday final.
This competition, initially organised around 3 highlights, was unfortunately cut short due to bad weather conditions and a wind too strong to allow the event to be held in reasonable safety conditions.
We still had the opportunity to see the men in action on Thursday during the always impressive qualifications with high level tricks! It was also an opportunity to see the resort's attachment to this freestyle discipline and to remember the hosting of the X Games in Tignes from 2010 to 2013.

Due to bad weather conditions, the men's and women's finals were cancelled.
The men's podium corresponds to the qualifications carried out on Thursday.
As the women were not able to qualify on Friday and the women's final on Saturday, no podium could be presented.
