Air Ladies

The Air Ladies - A Sarah Burke Tribute event : this was THE contest night of course. But not only!

The event was actually a three-day one: Marie Martinod and the girls have presented their Air Ladies project during the opening ceremony , they have discovered the espace killy ski area and new mountain activities and above all they have enjoyed their time together!

These three days have been charged with emotions but fun as well, for them as for us.

On March 6th of 2014, the most rock’n roll of all female freestyle skiers (and the first silver-medallist in halfpipe ski during the Sochi Olympics), Marie Martinod, has invited the best female freestylers of the time for a “girls only” quarter-pipe contest in tribute to the Queen of SuperPipe, Sarah Burke. The aim? To show that girls also know how to take some air and to raise funds for the Sarah Burke Foundation that supports the young female riders!

The 10 athletes that have been invited should jump as higher as possible above the quarter to make the kitty increase, with the music of the DJ Maeva Carter. The kitty reached €15 000, entirely given to the Sarah Burke Foundation!

On the podium: the snowboarder Clémence Grimal at the first place, and the female skiers Grete Eliassen and Ayana Onozuka respectively at the second and third places!

Air Ladies?10 happy female freestylers, a 8-metre high and 18-metre wide quarter, a kitty of €15 000, 7000 ovrexcited spectators!
