On January 27th 2010, Tignes hosted its first pole-vaulting meeting, called "Perche Altitude".
The best French pole-vaulters, led by Jean Galfione, competed in the former sports centre "Tignespace" for an elimination stage of the indoor France, Europe and World Championships in front of almost 600 people.
The athletes had to jump over at least 5.40 m (for the men) and 4.20 m (for the women) to enter the Championships.
