Created in 1920, the French Athletics Federation brings together all the France athletics clubs (indoor and outdoor), races, throws, combined events, walking etc.
Tignes hosted the trainings of the Federation in the Tignespace sports centre for the first time during winter 2013-2014. Its equipments are indeed perfectly adequate for the trainings of the athletes as the Federation took part in the project since the beginning:
• Athletics track with with 5 lanes for sprint and hurdles
• Pole-vault landing pit
• Long jump and triple jump sand pit
• High jump pit
• And also: a weight-traing room right next to the athletics area.
They trained in Tignes:
> March 2014: triple-jumping athletes, including Aboubacar Bamba, Benjamin Compaore, Harold Correa, Jean-Noël Crétinoir, Kafetien Gomis and Gaëtan Saku Bafunanga
> End of December / beginning of January 2014: Eloyse Lesueur, indoor long-jumping world champion (March 2014)
> End of October / beginning of November 2013: Pole-vaulting France "Espoirs" Team
> August and October 2011: Emmie Charayron, triathlete (4th at the Europe Championship in Lausanne, 4th at the African Cup and 18th at London Olympics 2012 right after her trainings).
