A WINNING SPIRIT!

A winning spirit, a very rock & roll look, and an atypical story in the world of freestyle skiing: that's what characterizes Marie Martinod best!

She was born on: July 20th 1984
Passions: sports, and especially riding sports! On the snow or on the water, she's always on her skis...
She likes: shoes, crochet, soul music, French cuisine, nature, Instagram, and of course... her daughter!

She was one of the main feminine freestyle athletes in 2004-2007, but stopped her career to start a family and therefore disappeared from the freestyle scene... Then, like everybody, she heard about freestyle skiing at the next winter Olympics in 2014, and couldn't wait to be back on her skis!

AN ATHLETE WITH A BIG HEART!

This is why, after a 7-year break, she decided to come back to the superpipe... and the podiums! Everybody remembers her victory at home at X Games Tignes 2013...  The beautiful story does not end there: she won the well-deserved silver medal in halfpipe ski at the 2014 Sochi Olympics after an awesome run!

Marie Martinod is a very generous girl as well: she imagined the Air Ladies contest that was a girls-only charitable show in tribute to Sarah Burke, the queen of SuperPipe.

No doubt: Marie is THE girl of French freestyle ski!

TIGNES BY MARIE

"For me, Tignes is the imbodiment of sports ; it's the French Football team training before the Worlds Cup, as well as the X Games, THE best of alternative sports. Tignes was already the resort for freestyle during Albertville Olympics! Tignes also reminds me of my first backflips in competition when I was about 12. And of course, Tignes has a perfect half-pipe where I can practice my runs. In all: a will to be at the top of what a mountain resort can offer!"
