On March 18th and 19th, the charitable show "Air Ladies", inspired by Marie Martinod, came back to Tignes with a big novelty: say goodbye to the quarter-pipe and hello to the halfpipe! The best female freestylers of the moment (ski and snowboard) competed with one goal in mind: gather as much money as they could for the charity "ELA". And they made it! A €15.000 chack was given to the president of the association, Guy Alba, in front of ELA's children. A very emotional moment!
The funds will help:
- Stimulate the Development and Research
- Make people aware of the disease
- Develop at the international level the actions of ELA.
New this year: the riders also voted to reward the athlete who performed the best trick with "Sarah's Crown", in tribute to Sarah Burke, the superpipe queen who inspired this competition. Ayana Onozuka won the crown!
Who is ELA?
Founded in 1992 by Guy ALBA, ELA (European Association against Leukodystrophies) that brings together families who fight against these rare genetic diseases. In Europe, 20 to 40 children are born each week with these dreadful pathologies.
